Oscar night at the Gillioz Theatre

The historic Gillioz Theatre was host to the 2008 Academy Awards presentation. The Gillioz was one of 52 co-host sites chosen from 450 entries. It was a night of glitz and glamour. A real Oscar was in the lobby and guests received the same program that was used in Hollywood.

The Gillioz dates from the mid-20s and was restored and reopened recently. The entrance is on St. Louis Street which was the original Route 66 through Springfield.
