The last day of the cruise we arrived at Seward and met our hosts for the coming week, Lattis and Sharotte Campbell. Our first stop was the sea aquarium at Seward. Then the long drive up through Anchorage to their home at Big Lake.
Lots of exotic sea life including birds.

A Sea Lion swims by Sally for a photo op
The highway from Seward to Anchorage is amazing. We stopped every few minutes to take photos and gaze at the mountains and streams.
Rivers, Lakes, Mountains...
This area is so lush.
The rains are frequent and gentle. So everything that can take the cold flourishes here.

The mountains make their own weather by catching the clouds and producing rain.
Headquarters for the Iditarod Sled Dog Race.
You don't need snow to take a sled dog ride. These puppies love to run and it was difficult to hold on when they raced down the trail.
We are rolling!
The huskeys are gentle and love to be petted. Sally and Kathy enjoyed being around the dogs.
This puppy was just weeks old. Already it was anxious to try on the harness.
This is the lake at the Campbell's house where we lodged. This was taken from the front deck. The water was clear and cold. Beavers were busy building lodges around the shoreline.
Another lake shot.
This is the scene we awakened to the first day in South Central AK. This is the deck at the Campbells' home on the lake.
We visited the Hertiage Center and witnessed a folk dance and storytelling from natives to the area.
These are the most gentle people I've ever met.
The dances tell a story.
