Woodie Moore > We departed Vancouver about six PM and this was our first sunset aboard ship. We sailed into the night in happy anticipation of the next day.
Woodie Moore > The sun dipped below the horizon just as we turned north up the inside passage.
Woodie Moore > I enjoyed listening to short wave stations and reading. The weather was cool but not cold. Those chairs were so comfortable and the stewards brought blankets around to make sure we were warm. Sally read several books while I took photos.
Woodie Moore > The ship on the horizon departed just before we did. We stayed within sight of it almost all the way to Ketchikan.
Woodie Moore > We never passed in the night, but it was nice to see another ship.
Woodie Moore > We sailed the inside passage between mainland Canada and Victoria Island. This was typical of the scenery up the inside passage.
Woodie Moore > The inside passave is very busy. We passed ships all day coming and going.
Woodie Moore > Meals, even on informal nights, were always a delight. Holland American does not push food, but prepares some of the best I've ever enjoyed. Baked Alaska was on the menu each night and Sally never got her fill.
Woodie Moore > The cabins are a bit cramped, but who hangs out in a cabin with so much exquisite beauty going by. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever enjoyed. In fact, they are so good that HA now markets them for home delivery.
